Kidlit Bio
With published work in Cricket magazine, the online poetry journal Dirigible Balloon, and STEMTuesday.com, I write everything kidlit: poems, articles, and board books through YA. In addition to holding an English degree, I regularly attend writing retreats and bookish events including Storymakers, WIFYR, and the Books For Young Readers Conference. I’ve been a member of 12×12, Inked Voices, and other such mentoring groups. Current professional affiliations include SCBWI, The Author’s Guild, and NCTE. Personally, my hobbies include genealogy research and teacherly things. I’m a stay-at-home parent of four kids ages 5-14, and plan to teach ELA in secondary schools.
Kids Might Like to Know
- I have four munchkins of varying size: two boys, two girls.
- Cooking and baking shows are my kryptonite.
- When I was a kid, I wanted to be a detective or a lawyer.
- I still want to live in a treehouse.
- I wish I could play hide-and-seek as a kid-sized person again!
